![]() ![]() ![]() The ROI setting that originally would take profit after a 50% gain was optimised so that it would take profits earlier and therefore is the biggest optimisation of this hyperopt session. This means that a trade could be stopped out quicker but of course also that the stop would save another 2% of funds if it proved that it was a bad trade. But instead the hyperopt session calcualted it would be better to tighten the stop loss space even more to a 3% loss after a trade occurs. I expected a change in the stop loss setting and to be honest I thought that this stop loss space would get bigger. Hyperparameter optimisationĪgain something interesting occurred after the hyperopt session and backtesting this result Nonetheless I will do a hyperopt session on the ROI and Stop Loss setting to find out if this strategy can be improved on these settings and by how much. Luckily the sell-signal of the strategy has a high enough profit to still make some money but the drawdown and risk of ruin are so high that I personally would not use this strategy. You can see from the backtest results that the stop loss setting is the main cause of these sells. Let me first say that the results of this backtest were somewhat expected as I personally found the stop loss setting of only 5% quite tight. Initial backtest resultsĪccording to the backtest over all the available timeperiods I have the following results: See the code of this notebook at the end of this blog. See the video for an explanation of the Google Colab notebook. But you should always stay aware of support and resistance at these levels so be careful when reacting to these signals. This could be a signal that the market is not ready to reverse yet and will trend even further. Last thing I’d like to point out is that during the countdown phase a new setup phase can also start. Another way that ends this countdown phase is when a bearish setup is finished (9th candle of a bearish trend).Īt that time a strong signal is given that the market could reverse and you should take this into consideration when determining your next trade. If this is not the case, then the countdown phase remains until this is true. The final 13th candle should close above the 8th candle in order for this sequence to finish. If at some point the candle is closing higher than the candle of two days ago, then this will add to the countdown phase candle counter. So every time a candle closes higher than the one two days ago will be counted as a countdown phase candle.Īnother difference is that these candles do not necessarily have to be sequential, in other words, there can be candles in between that close lower than the candle of one or two days ago. Instead of looking at the candle from four days ago to count as a higher candle, it looks at the candle of two days ago. There is a difference in the way the candles in this phase are counted. When the 9th candle of the setup phase is closed this will become the first candle of the countdown phase. Now, When the 9th candle is marked, then the setup phase is finished, then the first signal is given and at that time you should be cautious of a reversal of the trend.Īlso after this 9th candle, the second phase starts and that is the countdown phase.Īt this point the 9 candles from the setup phase form a sort of base to build this countdown phase on. If during this phase one candle closes belows the candle four days ago, the setup has failed and you have to start over again. If the third candle also closes higher than the candle 4 periods ago, it is marked with three… If the second candle in the setup phase also closes higher than the candle 4 periods ago, then it is marked with two. ![]() The setup phase starts with the first candle when this candle closes higher than the candle of the last 4 periods ago. So instead of higher closes, they should be lower closes. The bearish setup is exactly the same instead everything is reversed. And also that this indicator is useful on all timeframes. There is documentation that states that this tool is especially useful in ranging markets to enter long or short positions. It tries to determine reversals in a trend and thereby give you clues or signals to take a trade because of that signal. Now, What the TD sequential does is counting candles and the position they closed in comparison to the previous candles. The TD sequential is quite an interesting strategy which is also a little bit complex if you see it the first time. This strategy originally was created by Tom Demark and that’s where the TD in “TD sequential” stands for. The code actually was created by so all credits go to him for providing us with this script. In this video I am going to test the “TD sequential” strategy. ![]() ![]() ![]() The most well-known credit agency in India is TransUnion Credit Information agency (India) Limited, also referred to as CIBIL.The four credit bureaus in India are listed below: TransUnion Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited: Lending institutions, data collection companies, money collection agencies, and other organisations provide such information. So the scene itself was not real in itself but brought together all that was best in the Catskill Mountain area. ![]() It was an idealized composition which brought together scenes from several sites around that area and fashioned them into one panorama. As was the case in many of the paintings of the Hudson River school this painting was a tribute to American nature and to the two men who had celebrated its unique exquisiteness. It shows Cole and Bryant engulfed by the wilderness of the Catskill Mountains of New York state. My Daily Art Display today is Kindred Spirits painted in 1849 by Asher Durand and was considered to be one of the best works of the Hudson River School. Sturgess also wanted the backdrop of this painting to be typical of Thomas Cole’s landscapes. When to thy haunts two kindred spirits flee. Is my soul’s a pleasure and sure it must be Those words are images of thoughts refin’d, Yet the sweet converse of an innocent mind, The commission from Jonathan Sturgess in 1849 set the task for Durand to create a painting which would show Cole and his poet friend Bryant as “kindred spirits” which was inspired by John Keats’ “Sonnet to Solitude” which celebrates how aspects of nature enhance our lives, and ends: He spent many summers sketching in the Catskills and the White Mountains of New Hampshire during which time he drew hundreds of sketches and drawings. In 1837 he and Thomas Cole went on a sketching expedition to Schroon Lake in the Adirondacks and this enforced his love of landscape art. He was very successful in his career and his reputation as an engraver was enhanced when he was commissioned to engrave John Trumbull’s painting The Declaration of Independence.ĭuring the late 1820’s and the early 1830’s Durand’s interest moved away from engraving to oil painting. Initially he followed in his father’s footsteps and at the age of sixteen was apprenticed as an engraver. He came from a large family being the eighth of eleven children. His father was a watchmaker and silversmith. He was born in Jefferson Village, now known as Maplewood, New Jersey in 1796. In appreciation of Bryant’s tribute, he commissioned the painter Asher Durand to capture the friendship of Cole and Bryant and incorporate it into an America landscape, similar to one which often featured in one of Cole’s paintings.Īsher Brown Durand was also an American painter of the Hudson River School. Thomas Cole died an untimely death from pneumonia in 1848 at the age of forty-seven and the poet and his good friend William Cullen Bryant gave a eulogy of Cole which touched the hearts of many, including the wealthy New York dry-goods merchant and art collector Jonathan Sturgess. It is interesting to study paintings by this group of artists and discover how they represented the landscape and look at their depictions of weather, light, and season. Their works of art reflected nineteenth-century American cultural, intellectual, and social backgrounds. Members of the school shared their iconography and responded to one another’s paintings. The Hudson River School artists shared an awe of the magnificence of nature as well as a belief that the untamed American scenery reflected the national character. Such artists as Thomas Cole, Frederic Church, and Albert Bierstadt left a powerful legacy to American art, embodying in their epic works the reverence for nature and the national idealism that prevailed during the middle of the 19th century. The Hudson River School paintings are among America’s most admired and well-loved artworks. Today’s work of art is not a painting by Thomas Cole but one in which he is depicted. Today, My Daily Art Display, relates to three men, a poet and two artists, both of the Hudson River School of painting, one of whom, Thomas Cole, was the founder. A few days ago (February 4 th), I gave you a landscape painting by the American (although born in England) artist Thomas Cole. ![]() ![]() Medical experts regard stimulants as safe. A newer stimulant used to treat ADHD, Adderall, combines dextroamphetamine and amphetamine. The drugs work by altering levels of neurotransmitters, brain chemicals that transmit nerve signals. These drugs are normally stimulants, yet they ease hyperactivity and other symptoms in 90 percent of children with ADHD. Physicians usually prescribe one of three drugs: methylphenidate (Ritalin), dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine or DextroStat), and pemoline (Cylert). These include medication, counseling, social skills training, and other methods.ĪMedication Drugs are the most common treatment for ADHD and can help reduce symptoms of the disorder. One study showed that about one-third of fathers who had ADHD in childhood have children with ADHD.Īlthough there is no cure for ADHD, a variety of treatments may help children with this disorder. In addition, ADHD seems to run in families, suggesting that genetic factors may play an important role (seeGenetics). Studies have shown that areas of the brain that control attention span and limit impulsive behavior are less active in people with ADHD. Most scientists regard ADHD as a biological disorder caused by abnormalities in the brain. Most experts also reject the idea that poor parenting or a dysfunctional home environment causes ADHD. Scientists questioned this theory when studies showed that few children with ADHD benefited from diets restricting sugar and food colorings. Another theory linked ADHD with consumption of refined sugar and food additives. Experts called ADHD “minimal brain damage” and “minimal brain dysfunction” when this theory was popular in the early 1970s. One theory contended that ADHD resulted from minor head injuries or undetectable brain damage due to infections or complications during birth. However, they have discredited many theories that once were widely accepted. The combination of negative feedback, poor academic achievement, and social problems may contribute to low self-esteem and other emotional problems. Children with ADHD often receive constant criticism and correction from teachers and parents, who believe the behavior, is intentional. In addition, their disruptive, demanding behavior makes them unpopular with peers. They may run into the street without looking, blurt out inappropriate comments in class, interrupt conversations, and be unusually clumsy or accident-prone.Ĭhildren with ADHD often have severe learning problems because of their difficulties in paying attention, following instructions, and completing tasks. ADHD also makes children unusually impulsive, so that they act before thinking. Children may squirm and fidget at their desks in school, get up often to roam around the room, constantly touch things, disturb other people, tap pencils, and talk constantly. Hyperactivity involves almost constant motion, as if driven by a motor. However, children with ADHD sometimes can concentrate on and complete new or unusually interesting tasks. They may get bored with homework or other tasks after a few minutes, make careless mistakes, have trouble listening, and seem to daydream. Inattention means that people with ADHD have difficulty keeping their minds on one thing. Critics regard this discrepancy as evidence that physicians and psychologists too often apply psychiatric labels to children who are naturally more active or simply nuisances to teachers and parents.Ĭhildren and adults with ADHD consistently show various degrees of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness. ![]() Physicians in the United States diagnose the disorder more often than doctors elsewhere in the world. The behaviors also must occur in at least two settings, such as classroom and home, rather than just at a single setting.Ĭontroversy exists over the diagnosis of ADHD. The behaviors must last for at least six months, and must occur more frequently than in other children of the same age. These guidelines require that a child show behaviors typical of ADHD before the age of seven. ![]() In diagnosing ADHD, experts use guidelines listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Diagnosing ADHD is difficult because most children are inattentive, hyperactive, and impulsive at least some of the time. ![]() ![]() ![]() This is not the way modern audiobooks should be produced. If this were not such an incredible book, I would have been totally put off by this kind of nonsense production and I cannot help but forgive this shortcoming. The historical figures, places and things relative to WWII are there but, with regard to this Nazi propagandist, spy for the U.S. The book does not seem to purport to dramatize, with any accuracy, core events that actually happened in way of the protagonist. When it comes to this time and place in history, I find nothing humorous nor do I think that the author intended that. While the book has been characterized as black comedy, for me the book was deadly serious. The book is more meta-fiction than historical fiction. This is simple and beautiful prose about some of the complexity of our human nature. If you are anything like me, this is a tale that will stay with you for days after finishing it. The story is haunting from beginning to end. The book starts off simply enough and contains incidentals that are seemingly tangential but all of which interweave and come together in the end with a rather unexpected conclusion. This all sounds like a book that might be rather reflective and philosophical and, for some, this may turn out to but need not be the case. ![]() And, there are layers here to the good and evil dichotomy: do the ends justify the means and how does society and history deal with those individuals who do evil things to achieve righteous goals. Therein is the tension in the book between the “good” and “evil” roles the protagonist must play. It is also revealed early on that he is an agent who sends coded messages to the Americans in his broadcasts. Because it is revealed early in the book that the main character and storyteller pretends to be the broadcaster of Nazi propaganda during WWII, it’s not much of a spoiler. “We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.” This is one of the most often quoted of Kurt Vonnegut’s writings and one of the central themes of this selection. ![]() ![]() ![]() Roku is more of a neutral party, offering apps for Amazon, Google Play Movies & TV, and several other competing video services, but it lacks the sophisticated virtual assistants and smart home controls you’ll get with other platforms.Ĭontent discovery features: Media-streaming devices are starting to evolve beyond a static list of apps.
